We at McCulloch Lake have worked for a distinct responsibility.
For years we have all utilized our environment as effectively as we could.
In the city this often means translates to using the landscape for a view, living downtown for the amenities, or living upscale for a pool.
This isn't the city, and Mother Nature knows how to pamper. As a result, we want to pay our due respect to British Columbia's beautiful valleys, forests and wildlife.
Living in a natural element means harmony, not displacement.
With our minimal foot print, we know that McCulloch will thrive amidst a long lasting nature.
We've alluded to our green design theory, but the truth is that green design is more than just grey water recycling.
As part of our green work, we want to enrich the experience upon the KVR trail, upon the lake front and within the forest. We see that people should enjoy the natural forefront without disturbing it, and we've found it to be much easier than folks thought!
Wooden homes, with geothermal heating (with GeoForce), grey water recycling, and a minimalist parcel use, coupled with the restriction of combustion power engines on the water all add up to the absolute calm that McCulloch Lake has every morning.
Simply put, nature lives next door and she's been there longer. We understand this. We like it right where it is.
What does all this mean for you?
With the extra insulation, your home loses less heat during cold times. With the log structure, you can be sure that this will last for years upon years, aging like wine.
The water recycling is a fantastic tidbit simply because you know that your drain water isn't being wasted like it is in older structures. To learn more about Greywater and draining options, you can visit Wikipedia.
Minimalist parcel use is the decision that we don't occupy the entire parcel. In fact, we're interested in using as little as possible, and keeping the rest as the back yard. With the biggest swimming pool on any block. Watch out, it's not heated.
